“On
the Move: 2007-2035 Transportation Plan” is a prioritized list of projects,
initiatives, and policies that will guide development of transportation for the
next 25 years and more. Most of the projects are improvements to existing infrastructure:
widening roads, updating expressways, replacing old buses. Some of the projects
will make big changes possible: upgrading rail lines to allow for fast and frequent
passenger trains throughout the state and region; linking together properties,
bridges, and former railways to make a technology corridor that links important
institutions. Our sincere thanks to the On the Move task force
for their leadership in developing the plan. Our thanks to all who contributed,
including representatives of business, industry, neighborhoods, government, and institutions
(education, health care, religious, and others) as well as the general public. We especially appreciated
the students and staff at the University of Toledo, Bowling Green State University,
and Bowling Green High School who provided the concerns and insights of tomorrow's
leaders. This website documents the development of the plan.
As we begin to implement it, starting on July 1, 2007, we will use this site to
keep you informed on progress and how you can continue to be involved. We need
to work together as a region to make our plan come to life -- because together, we're On the Move! |
